A proper kid goat management program will not only get kids off to a good start, but will greatly reduce to potential for diseases down the road.  Steps for a kid disease program include:

1. Begin coccidiosis prevention via feed or start monitoring fecals by three weeks of age.
   
   
2. Begin a CDT vaccination series at 4, 8  and 12 weeks of age.   
   -  Clostridium Types C&D plus Tetanus 
   
   
3. Begin deworming at 6-8 weeks of age.
   
   
4. Start CAE (Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis) testing at 6 months of age.
